UnitedHealthcare has decided to downgrade all of their health insurance plans on June 1st by refusing to reimburse diagnostic colonoscopies without a prior authorization. This means that if I have objective signs of colon cancer (like rectal bleeding), my doctor and I can no longer get me a colonoscopy without getting explicit permission from UHC first. UHC often uses non-practicing physicians who have no experience in the specialty to veto necessary care, resulting in wasted time and harm to patients like me. 

This change is a reduction in benefits that UHC hopes that employers and employees won’t notice, and puts me in danger. Please let UHC know that your employees have specifically asked you to change insurance providers because of this action.
